When your pet is experiencing ophthalmic problems such as reduced vision or ocular pain, your registered vet may offer you a referral with Anne-marie at North East Veterinary Ophthalmology. Due to our training and the facilities available at NEVO, we are able to investigate the cause of your pet’s eye problem, and recommend the most appropriate treatment.
Our surgical suite facilities include high-powered operating microscopes, to allow us to perform microsurgical procedures involving the cornea or structures within the eye. Cryosurgery is used to treat certain ocular tumours and abnormal eyelid hairs.

Referral starts when your vet contacts us, after which we will contact you to arrange a suitable appointment, depending on the urgency of the problem. If
The referral process must start with your vet contacting us, so if you would like to arrange an appointment for your pet at the eye clinic at NEVO please ask your vet to speak to us. The one exception to this is BVA/KC Eye Scheme Assessment which does not require referral from your vet.
After your pet has been examined our ophthalmic clinicians will send a full report to your registered vet and keep them updated on treatment whilst your pet is under our care for an eye problem. Once the ocular issue is resolved your pet must return to your registered vet for their general clinical care.
